Show Google Calendar in Mozilla Thunderbird

  1. Open a web browser and navigate to https://gmail.com
  2. Login with your gmail account
  3. Click on the Google apps icon > Calendar
  4. Click on the gear icon > Settings
  5. Select the calendar to display in Thunderbird under the Settings for my calendars heading in the left navigation
  6. Scroll down toward the bottom of the page to find the Secret address in iCal format
  7. Copy this URL
  8. Launch Thunderbird
  9. If the Lightning calendar extension is not already installed, go to Tools > Add-ons > Search for Lightning > Click Add to Thunderbird to install the extension
  10. Open the Calendar
  11. Right click on the Calendar navigation area > New Calendar...
  12. Select On the Network > Next
  13. Select iCaldendar (ICS) and paste the Google Calendar URL copied earlier in the location field > Click Next
  14. Give the calendar a name and set the color > Click Next
  15. Click Finish
  16. Wait for a few seconds as the Google Calendar events populate into Thunderbird
